Dr. Shumeet Banerji
Personal Experience
Dr. Shumeet Banerji, founder of Condorcet LP, an advisory and investment firm focusing on early and development stage technology companies, retired as CEO of Booz & Company in 2013 following an illustrious career at the firm and its predecessor Booz, Allen, Hamilton. Notably, he played a key role in the separation of Booz, Allen, Hamilton in 2007-08, facilitating the sale of the government business to the Carlyle Group and spinning off the global strategy consulting division as Booz & Company.
His current endeavors revolve around the impact of technology and data on human life, with Condorcet Partners primarily focusing on the intersection of data with biology and healthcare. Serving as an Independent Director on the Boards of Hewlett Packard Company (now HP, Inc), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, and Jio Platforms Limited, among others, Dr. Banerji’s extensive board memberships also include positions at British Broadcasting Corporation and Felix Pharmaceuticals, Ireland.
Furthermore, he is an investor in and advisor to Berg Health and Aetion in the USA. Previously, he has served on the boards of Innocoll, Ireland, and Proteus Digital Health, USA. Dr. Banerji began his career as a faculty member at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business before transitioning to Booz, Allen. He holds a Ph.D. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and currently serves as an Independent Director at Reliance Industries Limited, contributing to various committees including Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Governance and Risk Management.
